Great video John! Just to clarify, for SmartThings, those gray buttons in the main device are used for adding the child devices you need, not for reporting the status of the devices.
Hi John, great video!!!! Do you know if I can use it with Ring Alarm Security System?
I have a wireless ADT system in my house. Is there anything I can do to use this independently from ADT?
My concern would be for the cost of this device why not just replace your hardwired contacts or devices with a wireless device that does the same job with less trouble
This cool and all but $20 per sensor. That is not a great deal considering your average home probably has 12-18 sensors not included fire.
Great video though, thanks and keep them coming.
Hello! I have DSC PC1616, unfortunately the system is armed and can’t be disarmed. I don’t have a master code. I still want to use wired pieces from the system, but replace it with something smart, that I can self-monitor from app. What solutions can you recommend? Really appreciate your help. Thanks
great video Loco Bielsa!!
Can you connect two reed switchs (for example two window sensors) to this zwave universal sensor to make them wireless? I'm not sure if you can connect one of them or two. In case of two, how would be the connection?
Hello, congratulations on the video. I have 14 sensors, should I use 7 smart implant?
I am Curious John have you looked at the Konnected product ? 12 zones for ~$150 with power supply etc….
I still see a Wink hub there on the desk, time to take that thing to the range and split it into 10 pieces.
I wish my house was already wired for an alarm to try this. I like that we can get mostly wireless alarms like the Ring, SimplySafe, etc, but I hate having to buy those watch batteries and replace those every 6 months to a year. And none of the battery sensors that I've seen screw in; they all use adhesive tape. That stuff never works right especially for the magnet slide. If the door swings to hard I've gotten them caught in the door because they shifted.
Rant over: Great video! Can't wait to see what else you use those for. What can I use those for??? I'll have to do some brainstorming. Thx Cheers
What are your thoughts concerning using Konnected https://konnected.io/ versus the Fibaro
Another great video John! I was going to remove my old system and move the HE hub to this location (more centralized location). Plans are changing a bit 🙂
The Uxcell MC38 magnetic switches on your Amazon store are no longer available. FYI.
Thanks for the great video John. I have a defunct wired alarm system and a Hubitat so… my to-do list just got a little longer.
MIND READER!! I was literally debating (in my mind) last night on what would be the simplest and most cost effective way to integrate my fire alarm system and NVR sensor inputs into Smartthings. This may have the 'brains' to do the trick. Thank you!… Now where's that followup video you promised? It's already been an hour!! 🙂
Hay John, GREAT VIDEO! Was interested in linking my old Honeywell wired alarm system to my Hubitat home security monitor. Before seeing your video I installed the Konnected alarm 2 panel $99 (sale price) along with their interface panel $29. You have two options, 1. Disconnect your old wired alarm completely and attach the old zone wires to the Alarm 2 module and control from your phone OR 2. add the interface module with the Alarm 2 module ( leaving your old alarm in tack wirh your old keypads) and have the best of both worlds . You can still use your old keypad AND/OR use Hubitat or Smartthings to control your alarm from your phone . Its worked seemlessly. The modules are very small but not as tiny as the one you show installing. Love your channel ( saw you on the last Hubitat live too) Stay well!
Very nice John. I have an old DCS 1500 panel. We have had many windows replaced so some zones are no longer working but I have two door, one window, and a motion still functional that I do want to get up and running. Sounds like I may be able to get away with just two of these. Awesome.
Where do you get the batteries?
thanks for sharing . lifesaver 🤘
Bro, you said the tamper alarm is gonna go off but you didn't say how to silence it.
My screen is black… I changed the battery … I did notice that the plus sign was still lit even tho the battery was removed for about an hour and half
Appreciate your instruction. Succinct and right to the point. thumbs up 👍
My system is literally unplugged, has no backup battery, and is still beeping 🤦♂️
What is the battery type?
Will this work for a Hawk service mine say smoke detector battery low?
How did you unplug that connector so easily? I feel like I'm going to break the box I pull so hard, what is the trick to this please?
what type of battery is it exactly?
What kind of battery?
So any two gigabyte battery for the this specific alarm system? I jave the alert 360 and need to buy the right replacement mines look just like his
Thank you so much , perfect directions !!
My I have a two gig go control that I move in and then I don’t know the code
This is the touchpad I have. Thank you so much. I’m fixing it right away. Easy.
Ok, so I no longer have my monitoring service through Richmond, but the old keypad is still on the wall and it keeps constantly beeping. I finally figured out how to remove the battery pack (unfortunately BEFORE I found this video😒) but its still beeping even without the battery pack. Can you please tell me how to totally diconnect the entire system so that is no longer getting power??
I have the system for four years… I cancelled the monitoring after 4 years because when the alarm would go off they simply would send me an email saying to proceed with cautious! That was it!
I felt that the ADT alarm monitoring was just set on a computer program to warn in case it would go off… finally I let it go after a lot of them "playing" around and would not cancel my services!
Anyhow, during the night I put the alarm on but noticed that it says tgat the batteries are low.
Which website can I buy the batteries online? Thank you!
What size battery is it ?
put the system on test before you start with the monitoring station , is always a good idea . good engineers always use the engineers code first . otherwise if it ant on maintenance you will need an anti code reset .
I disagree, This will replace the battery. But it will still say low battery on the keypad and the constant beeping will drive everybody crazy.
To clear the low battery from the keypad, First power down the whole system by removing the D.C power wire from the keypad. Now replace the battery, reconnect the power wire on the keypad. You're ready to go.
The keypad will not clear the low battery if you don't power cycle the panel.
