Early heating equipment replacement REBATE

Do you have a boiler that is at least 30 years old?
For a limited time only, NSTAR and National Grid are offering generous rebates to residential customers replacing functioning 30 year old boilers. The Early Boiler Replacement Rebate is only available between May 1, 2012 and September 30, 2012. Customers served by utility providers other than NSTAR or National Grid should contact those utility providers for similar rebate offers.

How to participate:
1. Applicant must be a residential customer of a participating utiltiy (National Grid, NSTAR)
2. Confirm that the customer’s boiler is functioning and is at least 30 years old. Broken or non-functioning boilers are not eligible.
3. Call Mass Save at 866-527-SAVE (7283) to schedule a no-cost Home Energy Assessment.
4. After the Home Energy Assessment, if the boiler is eligible, the Energy Specialist will leave the Early Boiler Replacement Rebate Form
5. Install eligible boiler equipment by October 31, 2012 (see enclosed flier for eligible equipment details). An eligibility request must be made by September 30, 2012.
6. Complete and submit the Early Boiler Replacement Rebate Form with supporting documents within 30 days of installation.
Rules of Participation:
• Residences must be located in Massachusetts.
• Customer must have NSTAR or National Grid as their electric and/or natural gas service provider.
• Municipal Electric customers must heat with natural gas provided by NSTAR or National Grid.
• Residence must have natural gas, oil, or propane heating.
• Properties switching fuel sources are not eligible. Properties switching fuel sources should apply for
• GasNetworks rebates or the Oil to Gas Conversion Program sponsored by NSTAR and National Grid.
• Equipment must be installed in a 1-4 family home.
• Non-owner occupied properties with 1-4 units that are installing a 90% AFUE or greater NaturalGas/Propane Forced Hot Water boiler are eligible for an extra 0.
• Customers receiving the Early Boiler Replacement Rebate are not eligible for any other Mass Save or GasNetworks heating system equipment rebates on installed equipment.

  1. I'd like to see an upload about communal heating, forced water (hydronic), one pipe baseboard heating. About apartment complex or building.

  2. So for example like in big nyc apartments that have the pipes running through the room lol. Do each tenant pay for the heater ?

  3. Here are questions to refresh what you had learnt:

    1. Where are steam heating systems (SHS) can be found ?

    2. Where do SHS commonly use ?

    3. Without required pump, how does SHS distribute and provide heat ?

    4. What is the functions of a loose lid when contained water applied with thermal energy ?

    5. What happened to internal pressure as thermal energy applied to a sealed container ?

    6. How do water molecules react when both of the pressure and temperature are increasing ?

    7. When water transformers from liquid to steam/vapor, how many times does it expand ?

    8. Explain how 2-pipe steam heating system work.

    9. What is steam hammering ?

    10. What needs to be installed to prevent rupture or steam hammering ?

  4. Thank you for continuing to share and educate those of us in the unwashed masses. You do an excellent job explaining whatever topic the video is on.

  5. Этот Бачог воды Поставит

  6. I would maintain that the pressure in the system plays no role in the circulation of steam and condensate. Rather it’s the change in density and the resulting convection current. The steam is light and rises up to the radiator (always situated ABOVE the boiler). The condensate is heavy and naturally drains back to the boiler. The system pressure dictates the temperature of the steam and therefore that of the radiator.

  7. @Engineering mindset please make a video on oscilloscope and it's uses, waveform generation. DC & AC coupling, DC offset and different types of electrical waves like sine waves, triangular waves etc. Please make a video very confused. Please🙏 Please🙏 Please🙏

  8. Non NYers: "wats that clankin sound!" NYers: "IDK we not allow to ask those questions, The Clankin is the Clankin and thats wtf it is!!" SupersNYers: "IT HITTIE THE PIPE TO THE LEFT IT HITTIE THE PIPE TO THE RIGHT IT HITTIE THE PIPE UPSTAIRS" —-Andrew Schulz every New Yorkers needs to watch this video LUL

  9. Hey The Engineering Mindset, how about video comparing steam heating and conventional hot water heating. I live in europe, it's first time I hear about steam heating so I'm curious about differences.
